At Neiman Marcus, Fashion's Night Out Festivities to Feature Rising-Star Designers

Fashion ValleyThursday night, add Neiman Marcus to your FNO shop crawl.
Last month we gave you the head’s up on the long lineup of shops that are joining in this year’s Fashion’s Night Out festivities; also on the list is Neiman Marcus. The retailer will be hosting an event for September 8’s FNO that will feature a fall trends runway show (fingers crossed we’ll get face time with Jason Wu’s winter-white dinner jacket) as well as presentation featuring rising-star local designers.

We're especially excited about the latter, a feature that will set this event apart from the drinks-apps-and-a-DJ norm. The designers — Jeffrey Parish, Arturo Mendez, Suzanne LeMasters, and Hellen Nitchske — are all students from Fashion Careers College.

Parish, you’ll remember, owns South Park boutique Junc, where he quietly crafts wearable wonders under his private label. Mexico City-born Mendez, meanwhile, has become a BDOC (big designer on campus) thanks to his Balenciaga-leaning silhouettes; LeMasters does femme/functional pieces, and her bona fides include Ashworth Golf and the costume design department of Lamb's Players; and Nitchske is a native of Brazil whose designs are inspired by international beaches as seen through a '70s lens. Each designer will show six looks.

Other perks will include signature cocktails, pieces on view from Lux Art Institute, free valet parking, and the return of the popular DIY “fashion flipbook.”

Unlike the mall’s open-to-all events, you’ll need to RSVP to the Neiman Marcus soiree by calling 619-542-4431 or by dropping a note to RSVPSanDiego@NeimanMarcus.com.

Thursday, September 8, 6 to 9 p.m.
